Tough Lock Anti-Fatigue Matting Tiles & Safety Edges
Tough Lock Anti-Fatigue Matting is a modular industrial flooring system designed to improve comfort in workplaces where employees spend prolonged periods standing.
The system combines 500 x 500mm interlocking anti-fatigue tiles with optional high-visibility safety edging, allowing you to create anything from an individual workstation mat to a larger anti-fatigue floor area.
Each black tile features a hardwearing PVC checker plate surface and cushioned foam backing. Yellow or orange bevelled edges can then be added around exposed sides to create a smoother transition between the surrounding floor and the 15mm high matting.
Build an Anti-Fatigue Floor to Suit Your Workspace
The modular 500 x 500mm tile format makes Tough Lock easy to configure around individual workstations, production lines and larger standing areas.
Tiles simply interlock with adjoining sections to create the required floor area. Additional tiles can be incorporated later if the working area expands, while individual damaged or worn tiles can be replaced without removing the complete installation.
The hidden interlocking joints create a neat, professional appearance once the floor is assembled.
Designed for Prolonged Standing
Each Tough Lock tile is 15mm thick and incorporates cushioned foam backing designed to improve operator comfort during prolonged periods of standing.
This makes the system particularly suitable for employees working at assembly stations, packing benches, inspection areas, machinery and other fixed industrial workstations.
Hardwearing PVC Checker Plate Surface
The black tile is manufactured from hardwearing PVC with a durable checker plate surface designed to provide additional grip in industrial environments.
The robust construction makes Tough Lock suitable for regular use in factories, warehouses and workshops where a durable anti-fatigue flooring solution is required.
Manufactured Using 75% Recycled Content
Tough Lock Anti-Fatigue Tiles are manufactured using 75% recycled content, helping businesses incorporate products containing recycled material into workplace improvement and CSR initiatives.
The cushioned foam backing is produced using regenerated factory waste while continuing to provide the supportive properties required for standing work areas.
Optional Yellow or Orange Safety Edging
High-visibility bevelled ramp edging is available to finish exposed sides of a Tough Lock installation.
The edging is manufactured from hardwearing PVC and aligns with the 15mm height of the tile, creating a smoother transition between the surrounding floor and the raised matting surface.
This can help reduce exposed-edge trip hazards and provides a clearly visible boundary around the anti-fatigue work area.

Tough Lock Edging Key
The Tough Lock edging system consists of four different component types. The correct combination depends on the exposed interlocking edges of the tiles and whether the component is being fitted along a straight section or at a corner.
- Male Edge: Straight 100 x 500mm bevelled ramp edge.
- Female Edge: Straight 100 x 500mm bevelled ramp edge with the opposite interlocking connection.
- Male Corner Edge: 100 x 600mm bevelled section designed to create the appropriate outside corner while connecting to a Male edge position.
- Female Corner Edge: 100 x 600mm bevelled section designed to create the opposite outside corner orientation.
Male and Female components are both required when creating a complete border because opposite sides of the Tough Lock tiles use different interlocking profiles.
What Do I Need for Full Edging?
For a standard rectangular Tough Lock matting area where all four sides are exposed, you will require both Male and Female straight edges together with four corner pieces.

Each Tough Lock tile measures 500 x 500mm and each straight edge covers one 500mm tile edge.

For a rectangular installation measuring W tiles wide x D tiles deep:

Installation Guidance
For best results, Tough Lock should be installed onto a clean and level floor. Existing dust and dirt should be removed before installation and significant variations in the subfloor should be repaired before the tiles are laid.
The manufacturer recommends allowing the tiles to acclimatise for at least 24 to 48 hours before installation in an ambient temperature of approximately 16°C to 24°C.
When installing up to walls or other fixed objects, allow approximately 5mm for expansion. Larger installations may require a greater expansion allowance.
The tiles are designed for dry indoor environments and are not suitable for regular exposure to direct sunlight.
Easy Modular Installation and Maintenance
The interlocking design allows Tough Lock tiles to be assembled into the required floor area without permanently fixing every tile to the subfloor.
The modular format also simplifies future maintenance. If an individual tile becomes damaged or worn, it can be replaced without removing the complete matting system.
For routine cleaning, the manufacturer recommends regular light cleaning with a damp mop and a pH-balanced floor cleaning product.
Complete Your Matting with Safety Edging
Where the matting does not terminate against a wall or another fixed surface, adding Tough Lock safety edging provides a more complete installation.
The yellow and orange ramp edges create a smoother transition onto the matting while also making the perimeter easier to identify. This is particularly useful in production areas, warehouse pick faces and locations where pedestrians or pallet trucks regularly cross between the surrounding floor and the raised tile system.

Delivery charges are calculated at checkout based on the products ordered and delivery location.
Most standard Mainland UK orders over £120 excluding VAT qualify for free delivery. Some exclusions apply, including certain oversized, heavy, made-to-order, or specialist delivery items.
Additional delivery charges may apply to some regions, including the Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.
1-2 Day delivery is available on stock items only and, where available, charges for 1-2 Day delivery are calculated at checkout. Orders for 1-2 delivery need to be placed by 1:00pm unless otherwise stated.
Delivery dates are estimates only and the company shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from any delay in delivery. In particular we shall not be liable for any matter which results from any act of God, war or riot, extreme weather, strikes or any other events which are beyond our control.
The company reserves the right to deliver goods in instalments, each installment being treated as a separate contract.
Goods will be delivered at the point most convenient to our carrier, usually the goods inwards department or reception on the ground floor. Further transfer or installation within the purchaser’s premises, particularly for large or heavy items, must be arranged prior to delivery and will be charged extra.
Goods are delivered by courier and may require a signature upon delivery. If the courier is unable to complete delivery, a card may be left and the goods returned to the local depot. Redelivery will usually be attempted on the next working day or arrangements can be made to collect the goods from the delivery depot. It is your responsibility to advise of any special delivery requirements at the time of order.
From time to time our shipping providers make an additional charge for delivery to some areas, for example Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands and Islands, in these cases we reserve the right to pass that additional cost on to our customer. We will make contact with you to obtain further payment to cover additional shipping costs, if you do not wish to make the additional payment a full refund will be offered and your order will be cancelled.
RETURN OF GOODS
In the unlikely event of you not being satisfied with any product, please contact us without delay.
Faulty Goods or Incorrect Item Received
Should the goods you receive be faulty or if we have delivered the wrong product you must inform us within 24 hours of receipt (or the next working day), we guarantee to accept return of such goods without charge.
Once we have received the goods at our premises a replacement will be dispatched to you.
Unwanted Goods
If you decide that you wish to cancel your order, you must notify us, in writing, within 7 working days of receipt.
You will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.
The goods must be returned in a completely resalable condition, in the original packaging, complete with all parts and accessories as supplied. For furniture items that are supplied in flat pack form, we may not be able to accept return if the item has been assembled.
It is your responsibility to take reasonable care of the goods. Goods will be inspected before a refund is made. If the goods suffer damage or neglect whilst in your care a claim may be made.
Customers are responsible for ensuring products are suitable for their intended application prior to ordering.
We cannot accept returns of goods that have been made to your particular specifications or manufactured to order as indicated by the delivery status icons. If you are unsure please call 01302 300200.
For business customers returns may be subject to a handling/restocking charge not exceeding 30% of the net price of the goods.
