COBAswitch BS EN 61111 Electrical Safety Matting

COBAswitch BS EN: 61111 Electrical Safety Matting is specialist electrical insulating matting designed to protect operatives from electrical shocks in high voltage environments. Conforming to the internationally recognised safety standard IEC 61111:2009 / BS EN 61111:2009, this matting is specifically developed for use in front of switchboards and other areas containing high voltage equipment.

Manufactured from EPDM rubber and containing 20% recycled content, COBAswitch BS EN: 61111 Electrical Safety Matting features a fine fluted rib surface finish to provide firmer footing. The ribbed surface helps reduce the risk of slips while improving standing comfort in safety-critical environments.
Available in three thicknesses to meet different working voltage classes, the matting is colour coded on the reverse to clearly identify its classification:

  • Class 0 – 3 mm thickness
    Working Voltage: 1KV
    Withstand Tested To: 10KV
  • Class 2 – 4 mm thickness
    Working Voltage: 17KV
    Withstand Tested To: 30KV
  • Class 4 – 5 mm thickness
    Working Voltage: 36KV
    Withstand Tested To: 50KV
The matting performs within an operating temperature range of -30°C to +80°C and is resistant to acid and oil at low temperatures. It is suitable for dry indoor environments and offers UV resistance. Installation is via a loose lay method, allowing flexible positioning in front of high voltage equipment. Cleaning can be carried out by hosing down or pressure washing using a mild detergent.
