Mark and Sarah made it! Three Peaks Challenge!

Directors of Doncaster business, Premier Storage & Office Solutions, Mark and Sarah Jepson, have successfully completed the Three Peaks Challenge, raising over £1,700 + giftaid (and counting!) for the children’s charity, Action Medical Research.

On the way up Ben Nevis

Joining a team from Constructor UK (Dexion – one of the company’s suppliers) Mark and Sarah started their first climb (Ben Nevis, 4,409ft) at 4.23am on 2nd July. It rained all the way up, but, powered by chocolate, flap jack and jelly babies, they got to the top and back down in 5 hrs 34 mins – sustaining only a few falls and bruises along the way!

On the drive to the next climb (Scafell Pike , 3,206ft) Mark and Sarah were given instructions on how to avoid being struck by lightning following warnings of bad weather! Starting their climb at 5.00pm, reaching the top at 7.00pm and back to the base at 9.00pm, no lightning was encountered – but it continued to rain. Just to make things a little more challenging for the couple, Sarah’s boot fell to pieces on the way down and had to be held together with a spare boot lace until someone at the bottom could make a more substantial repair – with gaffa tape!

Snowden (3,560ft) next. A slow and steady climb in the dark – but at least it had stopped raining and there were no more footwear catastrophes; just grey and damp! Hitting the peak at dawn, a quickturnaround saw them reaching the end of their challenge at 7.00am – a total time of only 26 hours and 39 minutes. As you would expect, as they finished their mamouth climb of the 3 highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales…. the sun came out!

Sarah says “It was really hard work; physically and mentally challenging, but I am so pleased we have done it. The cuts, bruises and blisters are all worth it to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile charity that helps sick and disabled children. We’d like to thank everyone for their support and donations. We are hoping to raise £2,000 for the charity (the whole challenge is likely to raise £50k) and are sure we will get there. I was surprised to hear that we had climbed the equivalent distance to a third of the way up Mount Everest, and only just over our target of 24 hours – we did however meet our challenge to get Paddington to the top of the mountains!”

You can still support Mark and Sarah’s challenge by making a donation at contact Mark or Sarah at Premier Storage & Office Solutions on 01302 300200 if you want to have a chat. [email protected]. T: @palletracking
